My Dad Would Be So Proud
I just got an email from Family Search saying that I’m a distant relative of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Following the link in the message took me to a page that showed a very tall tree with two branches tracing back through my dad’s mother’s ancestors to a common ancestor with FDR.
Dad had always felt a connection to the 32nd president, maybe because they shared the experience of polio. Even though he enjoyed spending time researching his genealogy, dad died in May of 2021 never having learned about this relationship. I know he would have been so proud.
